Aamir Khan debuted as a child actor, in 1973, in Nasir Hussain’s film Yaadon Ki Baarat. His first performance as an adult actor was for the 1984 film Holi, but Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is considered to be his first commercial success. The film effectively launched Khan’s career as an actor, thanks to his much-publicized “chocolate boy” looks. It was in the same year that he received his first National Film Award for his performance in the film Raakh.
